This exhibition is a reflection of Bahman’s own connection, affection and appreciation of Persian and Iranian history. Illustrated by figurative and landscape paintings. Some artworks will explore Persian mythologies from the “Book of Kings” also known as Shahnameh. Written in the 10th century by the master poet Ferdowsi, the Shahnameh is a collection of tales, myths, legends and traditional Persian stories, before the Muslim conquest. This body of work will include one of the most famous Persian mythological characters, Kaveh. Kaveh was a humble blacksmith who launched a national uprising against an evil foreign tyrant Zahak. More than just a fable, through Persian history, Kaveh has evolved into a heroic saviour figure. An iconic symbol of resistance and unity, fighting for human rights and dignity in the face of brutal dictatorships. An exhibition of enlightened, heroic figures.
