Contact Sheet Gallery in partnership with with Arts and Culture North Sydney delivered a Youth Digital workshop. Contact Sheet worked with local youth teaching them story telling in photography.

Exploring narrative, storytelling and the documentary through the lens of a still or video camera, these thoughtful projects were developed over a six-week program of hands-on workshops with creative industry professionals where students had the opportunity to explore what is important to them as individuals. Working closely with their mentors, each student was guided to create, edit and share a powerful story on what it means to be part of a community, considering the many ways that we might be shaped by our identity, experiences and environment.

Students from 12 local secondary schools participated. The final short films and photography projects were launched at Contact Sheet, St Leonards. During the 2-week exhibition, visitors voted for a People’s Choice Award, and on the last day students with the most engaging works were awarded prizes.
